WEDDING PHOTO
This is a photo of me at my aunt’s wedding. I was three at the time and was the ring bear. I usually do not have any recollection of events from ages 4 and younger, but I do actually remember this wedding for some reason. And that reason was that IT WAS MISERABLE. Weddings are so boring.
As you can tell from that photo, I am not in a happy mood. That suit you see me wearing. Yeah it sucked. I remember the tag on the back kept scratching my neck. Furthermore, the pants were so tight around my waist it hurt to sit down. Not to mention the ceremony was so long. I had to walk down the aisle and then just stand there for an hour. No sitting. Staying still. I do not remember much about the ceremony except for the fact that I just stood there and watched the Bride and Groom go through procedural wedding rituals. I do remember the sand pouring. I thought the colorful sand stacked on top of each other reminded me of those sand bottles in arts and crafts. Then the couple shared their very long vow showing their love for each other… Yada Yada Yada…..They got married.
My mom captured this photo during pictures. She wanted me to stand closer to my sister and take a photo together but I did not want to. I just stood away from her and pouted my face. My mom couldn’t do anything about my mood and there was a line so she just took the photo. I’m not really sure what my sister thought of the wedding. Maybe she thought it was boring too, but had the mental maturity to control her emotions or maybe she did like the wedding.
Looking back, it was kind of selfish to just keep an angry face at my aunt’s wedding. I only thought about myself on my aunt’s special day. Nevertheless, we always get a good laugh about this sad face photo every time they come over for Thanksgiving or Christmas and it's my phone's lock screen.
Recently, my cousin actually got married and I got to recreate this photo. The guy who this photo was actually the my aunt's husband. So it goes full circle. Its not the right angle and my sister was not there so its not a perfect recreation. I'll try to make a better one when someone else in my family gets married
